My Wife’s Pearl White 47 Merc Coupe

This is my wife’s baby. A Pearl White 47 Merc Coupe taken recently at Paso Robles. She really roughs it in this beauty. It has an Olds 455 stuffed under the hood hooked up to a GM T400 Tranny. Rear end is Chevelle 4 link with Coil Over suspension. Front end is Mustang II with 11” disc brakes and rack & pinion power steering. Of course it has A/C. She opted for the W/W tires and flipper wheel covers.. I had to push her to add the spots and skirts which gives it a definite 50’s flavor. I think she’s got herself a primo resto-cruiser. We’ll see if she lets me drive it. I have since added Lakes Pipes (like it didn’t have enough chrome on it already??), and repainted the interior Lavender Pearl. The cloth bucket seat interior is in light dove gray. (Used mini-van seats with 8” tall cap-stands for excellent high up driving visibility.) All in all a very comfortable ride.

Here we are at the Pismo Beach show. She wanted to bring her Merc but it was laid up due to steering problems. That was when we decided to dump the solid front axle and install a new independent front end and coilover rear. We had a great weekend anyway with Pink Bow.
